Narendra Modi will be the prime minister if the The National Democratic Alliance forms the government after the Lok Sabha polls irrespective of the number of seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, party president Rajnath Singh said, while accusing the Congress of trying to polarise the election. Rajnath Singh told Times Now news channel in an interview that Modi was the declared prime ministerial candidate of the BJP. Asked if there was a "Plan B" in case the BJP wins less then 200 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, Rajnath Singh said such rumors were being spread by the opponents of the party.
