The ‘war on women’ is just politics: poll

.

The Left’s “war on women” narrative is just politics and not actually happening, according to most likely voters interviewed by Rasmussen Reports.

A majority of respondents (59 percent) said the war on women is “primarily a slogan used for political purposes.” Just 22 percent of respondents said there really is a war. And 19 percent are not sure if there’s a war or not.

Men, naturally, were much more likely than women to believe the narrative is a political gimmick, with 65 percent men saying as much compared to 52 percent of women.

Democrats have been using the war on women narrative to discourage women from voting for the GOP. Any time a Republican disagrees with liberal policies, they tend to disparage him (or even her!) for being anti-woman. The narrative helped drive women away from Republicans in the 2012 presidential election, but not so much in this year’s midterm.

But with Democrats waging their own war on women, it might be getting more difficult to use it as the main thrust of their campaign against Republicans.

The Rasmussen poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters between Sept. 13-14. It has an error margin of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
