Prince George's County fire investigators are seeking information about nine automobile fires took place in a 22-hour period this week.
The fires started in the early morning hours on Wednesday and continued until Thursday at about 1:30 a.m. Most of the incidents took place in the Kettering area, with others happening in Upper Marlboro and Lanham-Seabrook, county fire officials said.
Investigators believe these arson and vandalism incidents are linked, and they are asking the public to help identify whoever is responsible for the acts. Authorities also recommend that people lock their vehicles, remove valuables from them and leave exterior lights on at night to illuminate the area in front of their homes where vehicles are parked.
Anyone with information can call 301-77-ARSON (27766) or email 77arson@co.pg.md.us.
