Prince George's County police are looking for a man suspected in two bank robberies in the county in the past several weeks.
In the most recent incident, which took place Thursday, the suspect approached a teller at the Wells Fargo Bank on the 5800 block of Silver Hill Road in District Heights. The man implied he had a weapon and demanded money, police said. They wouldn't specify how much money he left the bank with.
It was the third time in recent months that bank branch has been robbed. Two earlier incidents at the Wells Fargo branch this year were linked to a serial bank robber, whom police are still looking for.
Police suspect the robber last week was also involved in another bank robbery at the M&T Bank on the 6300 block of Kirby Road in Clinton that occurred Aug. 22. In that incident, the man implied he had a bomb after approaching a teller, police said, leaving the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
The robber is described as a black man of medium height and build. In both robberies, he wore a baseball cap and dark sunglasses and appears in surveillance video to sport a mustache.
Anyone with any information on the incidents can call Crime Solvers at 866-411-8477 or the P.G. police robbery unit at 301-772-4905.
