A Capitol Heights teenager was arrested after he was allegedly spotted by police carrying a five-gallon water jug filled with $750 in cash and coins.

Demetrius Jerome Coles, 19, was spotted by a Prince George's County police officer walking with the jug by the 1700 block of Countrywood Court in Landover, according to police. When the officer tried to ask about the jug, Coles dropped it and ran into a nearby wooded area, police said. Officers caught up with Coles on foot and arrested him.

The jug had been taken from a home on Countrywood Court, which police found with the front door kicked in. Police also found a flat-screen TV from the home in a nearby wooded area.

Coles, of the 5100 block of Cumberland Street, was charged with first-degree breaking and entering and other crimes, according to police.
