Passenger traffic rises again at Lansing's airport


DeWITT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Passenger traffic at Lansing's airport continues to recover after several years of declines, rising 8 percent in the past year.

The Lansing State Journal ( ) says that the number of people who flew at Capital Region International Airport totaled 395,000 in 2012, compared with 366,000 in 2011.

There were 430,000 travelers at the airport in 2008, but that dropped to 266,000 in 2009 and 264,000 in 2011.

The airport is in Clinton County's DeWitt Township.

Delta Air Lines is the top carrier at the airport, with 200,000 passengers last year. Sun Country Airlines reports 113,000, United Express 75,000 and Allegiant Air 4,900.
