Mitt Romney 2016? He’d have at least one enthusiastic ally.

When host Bob Schieffer asked Rep. Paul Ryan if he thought the former Republican presidential nominee would make another White House bid in 2016, Ryan was effusive.

“I sure wish he would!” Ryan said. “He’d make a phenomenal president.”

Ryan added that he doesn’t know if Romney will run, but believes he would be make a great commander in chief. Ryan also said he wished more Americans had seen the human side of Romney that Paul got to know on the campaign trail. The Wisconsin Republican added that “Mitt,” a documentary on the candidate released by Netflix in January, gave many voters a view of the contender that they might have missed during the general election’s hullabaloo.

Romney has been coy about any potential 2016 ambitions. At a joint appearance at Chicago’s Union League Club on Thursday, per CBS News, Ryan joked that “third time’s the charm” and Romney retorted that Ryan “wouldn’t be so bad [him]self.”
