Recent cold weather has pushed back the expected bloom time for the District's cherry blossom trees, and residents and visitors can now expect peak blooms between April 3 and 6.

National Park Service officials had said the annual cherry tree display would peak between March 26 and 30, but they updated their estimate Tuesday.

The cherry blossoms typically peak around April 4 each spring and attract about 1 million people to the nation's capital.
