A 39-year-old Bowie man died after he was struck by a car, police said.

About 12:45 a.m. Thursday, a 2010 Toyota Camry was headed south on Route 301 near Pointer Ridge Drive in Bowie when it struck Zuberi Lateef Brown. The Toyota's driver told Maryland State Police investigators that Brown had been walking north in the southbound lanes.

Brown was taken to a hospital, where he died from multiple trauma-related injuries, police said.

The Toyota's driver was not under the influence of alcohol and did not appear to be tired at the time of the crash, police said.
