Rep. Nancy Pelosi D-Calif. recently raised the temperature of the Democratic demands for Mitt Romney’s tax returns, insisting that Sen. Harry Reid’s baseless allegations about the presidential candidate were “true.”

But on July 19, Pelosi downplayed the issue to reporters after they questioned her about her own failure to release tax returns, after a report was released by McClatchy News.

“We spent too much time on that. We should be talking about middle-income tax cuts,” Pelosi said at the time according to a report from Roll Call’s Jonathan Strong.

Senator Harry Reid brought the issue back up last week, claiming that Mitt Romney hasn’t paid taxes is ten years.

It appears that middle class tax cuts are taking the back seat again. . .
