Speaking to reporters this afternoon, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi D-Calif. explained that members of Congress had to work together if they were going to accomplish any important legislation.

“On the front of our uniforms is Team USA,” Pelosi said, comparing Congress to the San Francisco Giants, who won the world series this year. “We have to work together for our country to continue to be number one and prevail.”

Pelosi said that she hoped that Republicans would work with President Obama to move forward on important legislation.

“It wasn’t like this before, even when President Bush was president we worked with him,” Pelosi said, adding that Republicans refusing to cooperate with a president was “a new phenomenon.”
