Sometime between debating a House Republican on the House Floor and her press briefing today, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., forgot that her erstwhile interlocutor exists.

“I don’t know who that is,” Pelosi said when asked to defend President Obama from a criticism leveled Rep. Jeff Landry, R-La., and respond to his suggestion that Congress pull foreign aid funding for Egypt. “Who’s that?” she asked when the reporter mentioned “Jeff Landry from Louisiana.”

Landry, a member of the Tea Party Caucus who was elected in 2010, has debated on the House Floor with Pelosi. His office noted that he was among the Republicans who responded to Pelosi’s criticism of the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act last year, for instance.

“Either Mrs. Pelosi has a failing memory or she turns a deaf ear every time a conservative stands to speak,” Landry told The Washington Examiner in a statement. “Coming from the lady who didn’t know what was in Obamacare until it passed, it is not surprising.”

Landry wrote House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to call for Egypt to lose its foreign aid funding.

“Yesterday, as we mourned the lives of those lost on September 11th, America was once again attacked by Islamic radicals,” Landry said in a statement today. “Our Ambassador to Libya was assassinated, and our sovereign land in Egypt was invaded . . . Reports of Egypt’s intelligence chief meeting with a senior Iranian spy should further spark the necessity for the President to meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu and cancel any plans to use American money to bail out Egypt’s new Islamist government. We should cease funding any nation that is run by radical Islamists, such as the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Pelosi said she did not support pulling aid money from Egypt.
