House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi explained to Andrea Mitchell this afternoon that she only supported a millionaire tax earlier this year to “smoke out Republicans,” not to join forces with Speaker Boehner.

“I’m glad he is taking up some of my suggestions,” Pelosi said with a smile. “My next suggestion would be to put something on the table – as we were suggesting then to smoke out the Republicans – at what level would you raise the rates on the wealthiest people in our country?”

Earlier today, Boehner signaled support for a millionaires tax – a proposal that Pelosi supported in May.
