Pew: Americans call Biden 'stupid', 'goofy, 'buffoon'

Vice President Joe Biden's trail of gaffes have caught up with him. In a new poll, more people use negative than positive words to describe Biden, among them idiot, incompetent, buffoon and clown.

Pew Research Center released the word poll on the eve of Biden's Thursday speech and the results aren't good. Pew found that 38% use negative terms, while 23% give positive words. Luck for the veep. About four-in-ten give neutral descriptions, with "vice president" among the most common.

Those who like Biden call him honest. Those who don't, said Pew, "describe Biden as stupid, a joke, goofy and a buffoon."

Surprisingly, Pew added that even Democrats aren't "highly positive" about Biden. "As many Democrats use neutral words as positive words to describe Biden, 47 percent to 45 percent.
