Greg Whitesell/Examiner Metro Interim General Manager Dan Tangherlini and Metro Board Member Chris Zimmerman talk examining one of Metro's new 6000 series rail cars during an open house of two models of new cars, also including the re-designed 3000 series cars, on Monday, July 31, 2006 at Reagan National Airport Metro Stop in Arlington, Virginia. The cars are designed to improve passenger flow into and out of the cars and to improve handicap accessibility. Also, with and increase in ridersship, the cars should accommodate higher numbers of passengers with more ease.
