GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — A proposal to build a natural gas liquids pipeline from eastern Utah to western Colorado has won federal approval.

The Bureau of Land Management on Friday approved a right-of-way for the project, which would help move more natural gas liquids out of the Piceance (PEE'-ants) Basin. It says Enterprise Mid-America Pipeline will likely start construction by the end of the year.

The 95-mile pipeline, which will trace an existing pipeline corridor, will boost the company's capacity for transporting natural gas liquids from Wyoming and Colorado to Hobbs, N.M., by about 15,000 barrels per day.

The Western Expansion Project II pipeline could go into service by the late summer of 2013.
