MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Plans are moving forward to rename a suburban Detroit post office in honor of a U.S. Marine from Michigan who died in 2010 while supporting combat operations in Afghanistan.

U.S. Sen. Carl Levin of Michigan says the Senate recently passed a bill to rename a post office in Macomb County as the Lance Cpl. Anthony A. DiLisio Clinton-Macomb Carrier Annex. U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan joined with Levin in backing the bill.

The U.S. House previously approved the measure.

The 20-year-old from Macomb Township died May 30, 2010. He was part of the 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
