BELTSVILLE, Md. (AP) — Prince George's County police say several children were injured when a school bus drifted across a road in Beltsville and into a bus stop.
Police spokeswoman Officer Nicole Hubbard said the driver left students unattended on the bus in front of High Point High School on Monday morning and the bus drifted across Powder Mill Road. Hubbard says the bus then hit an elementary school-aged child waiting at a bus stop.
Hubbard says five children, including the child struck at the bus stop, were treated and released at an area hospital.
Police arrested the bus driver, 61-year-old Arturo Roberto Harris of Clinton. Officers say he faces several charges.
