TEMPLE HILLS, Md. (AP) — Prince George's County police are identifying a man who was killed in a shootout with police and saying he's responsible for killing a 3-year-old with him.
Police identified the man Sunday as 38-year-old Frederick Roy Miller of Landover and said the child is believed to be his daughter. Police say Miller appears to have stabbed and shot the girl.
Police began pursuing Miller on Saturday after responding to the scene of a shooting where a man and woman were critically shot. Police say Miller fled in a car and shot at officers on two occasions before being killed in Temple Hills. The 3-year-old was found in his car.
Police say the man and woman who were critically shot were the girl's caretakers, her maternal grandfather and great-grandmother.
