Arlington police are looking for a man who impersonated a police officer at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City.

The impersonator approached employees at two mall stores on Jan. 3, flashed a badge and claimed he was a "detective" who needed to seize wristwatches as evidence in a case. Employees at the stores did not comply with the phony cop's demands and asked the man to leave, police officials said.

The culprit is described as a black male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 170 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing dark-colored jeans, a gray jacket and a red and black plaid hat.

Anyone with information can call Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS (8477).
