Police obtain warrant for Maryland man suspected in father's murder

Anne Arundel County police have obtained a warrant charging a man with murdering his father.

Darius Keenan Jr., of Pasadena, Md., faces charges in Anne Arundel County including first- and second-degree murder, officials said.

On Aug. 12, 50-year-old Darius Keenan Sr. was found dead in his home in the 400 block of Harlem Avenue in Pasadena. The medical examiner's office determined that he died as a result a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

The day Keenan Sr. was found dead, police determined that his vehicle was missing from his home. It was found later that day in Charlotte, N.C. Keenan Jr., who resided with his father, was operating the vehicle, officials said.

Anne Arundel police obtained the warrant charging Keenan Jr. with murder after witness interviews, ballistic evidence, and numerous search and seizure warrants. He is incarcerated in Mecklenburg County, N.C., and the Anne Arundel County's State's Attorney's Office is seeking extradition.
