Police: Person hit by VRE train, killed

FAIRFAX STATION, Va. (AP) — Fairfax County police say a person hit by a Virginia Railway Express train has died.

Officers were called to the scene near Clara Barton Drive, where police say the person was hit on the Manassas line early Wednesday. Police say the person has died.

Passengers were kept on the train, but VRE says several buses will be available at Manassas Park when the train is able to move again.

All morning trains on the line have been canceled and VRE plans to run on an "S'' schedule in the evening.
