The "America's Most Wanted" segment on the unsolved slaying of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington is generating tips for investigators.

Virginia State Police received at "six or seven" new tips after the show aired Friday, said police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.

Harrington, 20, left a Metallica concert at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville on Oct. 17, 2009 and disappeared. In January 2010, her skeletal remains were discovered in a field on an Albermarle County farm.

DNA evidence has linked the Harrington killing to a 2005 sexual assault in Fairfax City.

Metallica recorded a public service video as part of a law enforcement media blitz to try to catch the man. A reward of up to $150,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Anyone with information can call Virginia State Police at (434) 352-3467, Fairfax City police at (703) 385-7959 or the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
