Authorities are searching for a teenager who has been missing from Montgomery County for more than a month.
On June 11, 17-year-old Sarah Kass was seen leaving Paint Branch High School, located at 14121 Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville. She hasn't been seen since, said Maureen Heads of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Sarah was expected to be a senior at Paint Branch in the upcoming school year, according to schools spokesman Dana Tofig.
She may still be in Maryland or in the District, Heads said, and there are concerns that she may need medical attention.
The teen is considered to be an "endangered runaway" because she left school on her own but police are still concerned about her, Heads said. She said she was not aware of there being any suspects in Sarah's disappearance.
"I know her family's searching for her and working closely with law enforcement," Heads said. Sarah's family declined to be interviewed.
Sarah is described on a NCMEC poster as 5-foot-6 and 130 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes, and has a birthmark on her upper right ankle.
