Police seek information about sexual assault near Silver Spring post office

Montgomery County police are seeking information about the sexual assault of a 21-year-old postal worker in Silver Spring.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. Friday, police went to the post office located at 110 University Boulevard W. The victim told police that she was walking in the neighborhood behind the post office during her lunch break when a man approached her and displayed a knife. The assailant then forced the woman into the backyard of a nearby home and raped her, police said.

The attacker was described as a black male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a medium build. He had gray and black facial hair and several missing or broken teeth.
