A Columbia man has been arrested for secretly videotaping two young women in their Ellicott City apartment, police said.

Michael Stephen McKenny, 42, was charged Thursday night with multiple counts of burglary, visual surveillance with prurient intent and videotaping a person in a private residence without consent, according to Howard County police. He was being held Friday on $100,000 bond.

In June, a video camera was set up in a condominium in the 8300 block of Montgomery Run Road shared by two women in their 20s. The camera was first in the bedroom of one of the women, and over the next few months, McKenny reentered the condo to move the camera to record the other woman's bedroom and bathroom, police said. In September, one of the women found the camera concealed in a closet and called police.

Investigators believe that McKenny knew the women's identities and had stolen and copied the key to their residence.
