WASHINGTON (AP) — A Georgetown man has been stabbed to death in his home and his wife has numerous cuts in what police say is a domestic fight between the couple and their son.
Police said 88-year-old Le Roi Elliott was slain Sunday morning and his 81-year-old wife, Vaughan Elliot, was wounded.
The 56-year-old son who lived with his parents was taken to the hospital for hand injuries. He has not been formally charged but police say he is the only suspect.
Police say Vaughan Elliott called 911 about 6:30 a.m. Le Roi Elliotto suffered an undetermined number of stab wounds. He was found unconscious in an upstairs bedroom.
Police say the son had a history of mental illness, but they didn't describe the specific nature of his illness.
