Police: Vehicle was seen leaving the scene of Capitol Hill East shooting

D.C. police are processing a black Pontiac that was seen fleeing the scene of a Capitol Hill-area shooting that critically injured a man.

The victim had been shot in a vehicle at about 3:20 p.m. Wednesday at 14th and K streets SE, police said. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

A black Pontiac seen leaving the scene was found in the rear of the 1000 block of South Carolina Avenue SE, unoccupied. The Pontiac had been stolen from Prince George's County, police spokeswoman Officer Tisha Gant said.

The suspect was seen fleeing into the Eastern Market Metro station. He was described as black, about 5-foot-3, with a light complexion. He had short hair and was wearing a black jacket, police said.
