Poll: Majority of Americans oppose assault rifle ban

In spite of multiple calls from anti-gun advocates for the restoration of the assault rifle ban, 51 percent of Americans remain opposed to the idea, according to a new Gallup poll.

Only 44 percent of Americans supported a new ban.
