You'd think the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate would be a shoo-in, given an electorate where registered Democrats dominate by 750,000. No, not in deep blue Massachusetts — which boasts a million more registered Democrats than Republicans. Rather, the electorate is in North Carolina, where there are more than 2,750,000 registered Democrats, 2,000,000 Republicans, and about 1,750,000 Independents.
