‘Polls are closed’ but they’ll be voting in Virginia until 9 pm

Polls closed 30 minutes ago here in Virginia, but as of 7:30, only 2 of Fairfax county’s 237 precincts have actually stopped voting.

For instance, at the Fairfax County Government Center, the line of voters right now is well over 100 people. They got in the door before 7 pm, and all of them are entitled to vote. Some Fairfax precincts have reported to the County that they expect voting to continue until 9 pm.

After the voting is done, the counting begins. So, if Virginia is as close as the exit polls make them out to be, we won’t have a result for this state until well after nine.
