Before heading to Newtown, Conn., Sunday night to honor the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, President Obama spent time being a parent. He traveled to the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda to watch his daughter, Sasha, dance.

On Friday, the president wiped away tears as he spoke in the briefing room. "This evening, Michelle and I will do what I know every parent in America will do, which is hug our children a little tighter, and we'll tell them that we love them, and we'll remind each other how deeply we love one another," Obama said.
