DETROIT (AP) — Nashville Predators defenseman Hal Gill has been knocked out of a game against the Detroit Red Wings with a lower-body injury.

Gill was injured in the second period Saturday night, and the Predators said he wouldn't return to the game.

Gill has no points in 15 games this season. The Predators acquired him a little more than a year ago from Montreal, and he had five assists in 23 games last season.

Gill, who turns 38 on April 6, is the oldest player in franchise history.
