SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — The president of South Korea's Olympic Committee says he will not run for a second term in elections this month.

Park Yong-sung says in a statement he has done all he set out to do as head of the KOC.

During his four-year term, South Korea won the right to host the 2018 Winter Olympics in the alpine town of Pyeongchang after two unsuccessful bids.

Park is chairman of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction and a former member of the International Olympic Committee.

The 72-year-old cites age as another reason he's stepping down.
