A Glenn Dale man was injured in a fire at his home, Prince George's County fire officials said.

About 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Prince George's County Fire/EMS units went to a single-family home in the 7800 block of Northern Avenue. Nearly 60 firefighters battled the blaze, and it took about an hour for the bulk of the fire to be knocked down.

A man in his 50s made it out of the house before firefighters arrived, but he was burned on his upper body. He was taken to a burn unit in good condition, officials said.

The home was destroyed, and the damage is estimated at $150,00, officials said. The fire's cause is under investigation.
