A Prince George's County man was sentenced on Friday to 110 years in prison for killing his mother and step brother in August 2011.

Quindell Mercer, 35, shot and killed his mother Patricia Harris and her son Frank Lamar Harris at his mothers home on Aug. 3, 2011. He then posed their bodies on the sofa to make it look like they were sleeping. They were discovered by Frank Arthur Harris, Mercer's step father, according to a press release from the Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela D. Alsobrooks.

Mercer was found guilty on two charges of second degree murder, use of a handgun in the commission of a felony and two counts of possession a regulated firearm after conviction of a disqualifying crime.
