A Prince William County police officer killed in the line of duty was honored Tuesday at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in D.C.

Officer Chris Yung was killed in a traffic accident on New Year's Eve while responding on his police motorcycle to a call in Bristow.

"Chris had an infectious smile that impacted everyone he met," Police Chief Steve Hudson said at the ceremony. Yung, 35, a former Marine, had been with the department seven years.

Yung's name will be one of 321 on a memorial to be dedicated May 13, during National Police Week. The names include 120 officers killed in 2012, plus 201 officers who died in previous years.
