More protests are expected in Caracas Saturday, and the government has called for a march after nationwide protests continued for a third straight day in Venezuela. The protests are the largest faced by President Nicolás Maduro since he came to power last year. Soaring inflation of 56.2% over the past 12 months and a murder rate that according to local NGOs is one of the world's highest, has continued to stir anger. Around 100 protesters were arrested in recent days and, according to the government, a quarter of them have been released.
