Public hearings on Montgomery County budget to begin in April

Montgomery County residents looking to testify about the county's fiscal 2014 budget can sign up starting March 15.

County Executive Ike Leggett is scheduled to reveal his budget plan on March 15, facing at least a $134 million shortfall.

Public hearings on the operating and capital budgets, as well as the fiscal 2013-18 Capital Improvement Program are scheduled in April.

Hearing days are April 9, 10 and 11 starting at 7 p.m. and April 10 and 11 at 1:30 p.m. The locations have not been announced.

Anyone interested in testifying can call (240) 777-7803 starting March 15.
