Public safety officials from across region to meet

BALTIMORE (AP) — Public safety officials from the Mid-Atlantic region will be meeting in Baltimore for a first-of-its-kind meeting to discuss regional collaboration.

The event is being held at the Southern Management Corporation Campus Center of the University of Maryland.

It is being sponsored by the Gov. Martin O'Malley's office of crime control and prevention with the support from the National Criminal Justice Association, the National Governors Association and the Bureau of Justice Assistance of the U.S. Justice Department.

States that are participating include Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Delaware and the District of Columbia.
