Back in June, singer R. Kelly was supposed to make an appearance here in D.C. and sign copies of his new book "Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me" at Union Station. But that didn't happen, as the singer became gossip fodder for hurriedly traveling to Chicago for medical treatment and missing appearances on "The Jimmy Fallon Show" and NBC's "Today Show." His publicists released a statement saying he was "suffering from complications to surgery he had last year to treat an abscess on his vocal cords." Now, he's back at it, resuming his book tour in August. He'll be traveling to Washington on Aug. 11 to sign books at the Barnes & Noble in Union Station. The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
