Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel disavowed any affection for the music by Canadian rock band Nickelback, in response to a striking teacher's placard alleging the contrary.

"No," Emanuel spokeswoman Torah Cooper replied when asked by the local RedEye if Emanuel likes the band.

Nickelback was not immediately available for comment.
