Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., explained in an interview with a local Houston station that he wouldn't judge New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's role in the "Bridgegate" scandal, but he did point out that the case could be "unsettling" to the American people.

"It's important that people think that their government not be used to bully them," he said, pointing to the Internal Revenue Service scandal under President Obama's administration.

"Nobody wants to think their government would shut down a bridge or do something just because you're a Democrat and I'm a Republican," he said. "It's an unsettling charge. I don't know if it's true, but it's unsettling."
