Rand Paul responded this morning to Sen. Lindsey Graham’s comment that Paul’s filibuster of CIA nominee John Brennan’s confirmation was “ridiculous.”

Graham said yesterday, “The drone program he [Obama] has utilized overseas, I think has made us safer. This idea that we’re going to use a drone to attack an American citizen in a cafe in America is ridiculous, and I think the American people need to understand the threat we face.”

On Glenn Beck’s radio show today, Rand replied, “I agree it’s ridiculous, but then why didn’t the president say he won’t?”

Paul explained that the president saying he doesn’t “intend” to use a drone on an American citizen on American soil isn’t sufficient.

“I want to take him at his word, but intent is not really what I’m looking for,” Paul said.
