STORYLINE:

Israel struck five mosques, a sports stadium and the home of the late Hamas military chief across the Gaza Strip, a Gaza police official said on Tuesday.

Two mosques were reduced to rubble in Rafah in southern Gaza and Gaza City.

A petrol station adjacent to the mosque in Gaza City was also damaged.

Israel hit more than 70 targets overnight.

So far at least 570 Palestinians and 29 Israelis have died during the war, which began two weeks ago.
