For the second straight day, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III joined his teammates on the practice field, though it appeared he tested his knee a little bit more than Wednesday.

It’s still uncertain how much Griffin will do in practice — and it won’t be known until Mike Shanahan addresses the media after practice. But Griffin did simulate stretch zone hand-offs off to the side, something he did not do in the open media portion Wednesday. It tests his ability to move more laterally, a key ingredient to his being able to play.

Griffin, who has a Grade 1 lateral collateral ligament sprain, also threw passes to receivers off drop-back passes (against no defense) and even planted harder on a couple throws than he could Wednesday. Then, he threw most of his passes off his front foot. He still was favoring his knee.
