The Hollywood A-list is lining up to play a young Hillary Clinton, according to a report from British newspaper the Independent. Actresses in the running for the title role in "Rodham" include "Les Miserables" star Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Chastain of "Zero Dark Thiry," Reese Witherspoon and Scarlett Johansson. (Of the four, it is Johansson who is no stranger to Democratic politics, having spoken from the stage at last year's Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.)

The screenplay was penned by Young il-Kim and made Hollywood's "Black List" last year, meaning that it was one of the "best unrealized scripts," according to the Independent. Now the film is a go and will show Clinton in 1974 as a 26-year-old Washington attorney.

"They're all wonderful actresses," said James Ponsoldt, who will direct "Rodham. "We're very fortunate that a lot of really great actors are interested in playing these roles. We're in an enviable position," he told the Independent.

The film is expected to come out around the 2016 election.
