Rep. Todd Akin refuses to leave race over rape comments: ‘I am not a quitter’

Rep. Todd Akin refused to leave his U.S. Senate race in Missouri after making controversial comments about “legitimate rape.”

“I am not a quitter” he said, on the Mike Huckabee show this afternoon.

Akin explained that he meant to say “forcible rape,” not “legitimate rape."

Akin is running against Sen. Claire McCaskill D-Mo.
