Impact player

Given enough time in the pocket, New York quarterback Eli Manning is going to pick apart a secondary every time. The Redskins didn't generate enough of a rush, and Manning was 20-for-33 with 280 passing yards and one touchdown.

Under the radar

Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon has made a huge difference since his return. He still isn't healthy with that lingering foot injury. But he caught eight passes for 106 yards, including a 35-yarder late in the second quarter to set up a field goal.

Did you notice ...

The Giants shredded the Redskins on third downs? In the first half alone, they converted eight of 10 attempts, and on their second-quarter touchdown drive added two second-and-longs. Two of those went to tight end Martellus Bennett, who had a monster day. They were 9-for-15 overall.

From the sidelines

Tom Coughlin's team learned how to at least slow down Robert Griffin III from its home game against Washington on Oct. 21. This time Griffin managed just 235 yards of total offense. He had 347 last time.

After a 1-yard run by running back Alfred Morris, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan called time out with the ball inside the 15-yard line and 1:01 left in the first half. That gave New York enough time to mount a late scoring drive.
