First lady Michelle Obama will celebrate her 50th birthday with a White House party, according to reports.

Obama, whose birthday is on Jan. 17, will hosts guests the following night for “Snacks & Sips & Dancing & Dessert.”

Sources told the Chicago Tribune, which first reported the story, that the White House has begun sending out save-the-date invitations for the bash. Guests have been told to wear comfortable schools and be ready to hit the dance floor.

Michelle Obama hinted earlier this year that her birthday celebration would involve dancing.

"I’m not exactly sure yet what I’m going to do, but it might involve some dancing," she said during a visit to a children’s hospital earlier this month.

She added that she was looking forward to turning “50 and fabulous.”

The first lady celebrated her 49th birthday earlier this year with President Obama and close friends at Cafe Milano in Georgetown. In 2012, the Obamas had dinner at BLT Steak, blocks from the White House, on the first lady's birthday.

The first family is in Hawaii for their annual Christmas vacation. On Christmas Day, the president and first lady visited with 500 servicemembers and their families at the Marine Corps Base in Kaneohe Bay.
